Primera Technology
Prime Technology is a privately owned company, first founded in 1973 in Mt. Vernon, New York. Since 1982, they have been located on twelve acres in North Branford, Connecticut in a 36,000 square foot facility. They also have a 20,000 square foot facility in the Dominican Republic for commercial manufacturing that has been operating since 1986. As they celebrate nearly 45 years of past success and history, they renew their commitments to their customers, and they take pride in their solid position for growth, brought about by a solid foundation
Prime Technology’s mission is to design and manufacture instruments and electronic systems through innovative engineering in order to surpass its customer’s needs and expectations. These are the principles that have guided the company’s growth from manufacturing wirewound resistors, resistor instruments, and measurement and indication equipment into integrated systems with broad applications. There are six divisions under the Prime Technology umbrella, each sharing the company’s vision.
They provide their customer base a resource that designs, develops and manufactures electronic systems to their individual requirements. They are uniquely able to provide this at an exceptional value by calling on their past technological successes to use as building blocks for future projects. Through the use of this existing technology, combined with their growing expertise in dealing with system-based projects, they can offer solutions at a reduced cost, faster schedule and with less risk.
They have a variety of extraordinary capabilities supporting their efforts to further expand into the electronic systems market. They have developed an outstanding engineering department with a considerable 3-D modeling and design capability. They have developed a vertical manufacturing operation, with the ability to perform a variety of manufacturing processes such as automated surface mount pick and place, through hole assembly, wire bonding, mechanical assembly, metal fabrication, secondary machining, painting, and marking. They adhere to a rigorous Quality Program that conforms to the Nuclear Power Issues Committee (NUPIC) 10CFR50 Appendix B and 10CFR21. They also conform to MIL-I-45208 for inspection and MIL-STD-45662A for calibration.
Prime is a proud member of The Submarine Industrial Base Council, The American Society of Naval Engineers, and the Naval Submarine League.
Prime Technology is a proprietary manufacturer of precision instruments and systems, producing commercial, nuclear, and military products. The company's six divisions manufacture products ranging from intricate electromechanical assemblies to state-of-the-art electronics incorporating surface mount (SMT) and chip-on-board (COB) technologies.
Prime Technology has invested heavily in production and engineering capabilities in order to be to be a quality manufacturer of its off-the-shelf products. This vertical integration plan has produced facilities capable of producing products to stringent military specifications. The facilities consist of paint rooms, injection molding, machine shop, tool and die, and electronic assembly. Prime's offshore facilities make it possible to produce low cost high volume products, while maintaining Prime's dedication to precision. This philosophy has allowed Prime Technology to maintain complete control of all critical processes required to produce a quality product.
